Amity: Me and My Guitar

"Me and My Guitar' is about discovering the essential happiness of living out who you are," says Amity. "Life is so full of turns and choices, but there are moments of transparency when we can identify the direction that truly resonates. It's like looking out over the city from the highest vantage point. You can see how all the pieces fit together, and you know exactly where you want to go."

A Powerful New Voice -- Amity Releases Her Music Video, "Me and My Guitar"

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Budding singer, songwriter Amity is bringing her unique brand of smart, catchy and introspective music to the world. Her newest song, "Me and My Guitar," has been released on iTunes; the official music video is available on YouTube by visiting www.AmityVideo.com.

Often described as a cross between Colbie Calliat and Adele, Amity's bright voice, insightful lyrics and upbeat guitar work make a powerful musical statement. "Me and My Guitar" is a joyous turn on a difficult subject—learning how to accept yourself.

"'Me and My Guitar' is about discovering the essential happiness of living out who you are," says Amity. "Life is so full of turns and choices, but there are moments of transparency when we can identify the direction that truly resonates. It's like looking out over the city from the highest vantage point. You can see how all the pieces fit together, and you know exactly where you want to go."

"Me and My Guitar" is part of a recently released EP, which includes "I Remember it All" and "The Other Side."

The new release is just the latest milestone in Amity's fast-rising music career. Earlier this year, she performed with the Les Paul Trio and Dave Rollans at a Les Paul tribute in Beverly Hills. In addition to performing "Me and My Guitar," Amity sang with the Les Paul Trio, showing off her chops in her original rendition of the jazz classic, "How High the Moon."

Though Amity is gratified by her recent success, her prime motivation is sharing her music.

"I hope that 'Me and My Guitar' can add a little something to a person's day," says Amity, "whether it is a smile, an idea, or a little dance move."

"Me and My Guitar" was mixed by Eric Boulanger, mastered by Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab and recorded by Oz Fritz. The song can also be found at Amazon.com and other online outlets.

In addition to her music, Amity cofounded Our Kids Sake, a non-profit charity organization devoted to helping homeless children in Sonoma County, California.
