Midas Promotions, in association with On Golden Pond Pictures multimedia entertainment company and Blue Giraffe Sports, today announced that one of the pop industry's favourite female singers and Black Eyed Peas front woman Fergie will appear live in concert on November 14th at Dubai Media City. The show will be Fergie's first live solo performance in Dubai where she is scheduled to perform tracks from her multi-platinum debut solo album "The Dutchess."

In 2003, The Black Eyed Peas were recording their third album, 2003's Elephunk, when will.i.am invited Fergie to try out for a song called "Shut Up." She got the gig and instantly bonded with the trio to record five additional songs on the album after which she was invited to join them permanently.


After two BEP albums, Fergie turned her sights on a solo career. Her first album, released in September 2006, The Dutchess, is reminiscent of the Black Eyed Peas sound, most likely due to fellow BEP member, will.i.am, featured on production duties. Fergie worked with an array of talent, and the lyrics focus on Fergie's own brand of style and delivery.


Fergie has had six hit songs from The Dutchess, with "London Bridge", "Fergalicious", "Glamorous", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Clumsy", and "Finally" becoming number one US singles. Her singles, "Fergalicious" and "London Bridge" reached #2 on the United World Chart, while "Fergalicious" and "Glamorous" both made it to #4. "Big Girls Don't Cry" became Fergie's first worldwide #1 single, and is her most successful single to date. The album has so far spawned three U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number one singles and five Top 5 hits, making The Dutchess the seventh album from a female artist to spawn five Top 5 hits.


The concert follows the news that the singer has been cast as Saraghina in "Nine," a big-screen adaptation of the Tony-winning musical. She joins an A-list cast including Daniel Day Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench and Kate Hudson, directed by Rob Marshall ("Chicago"). Filming is set to begin in October.
