Funso Alabi: Stars Don't Die

"We are the miracles that God made
To taste the bitter fruit of Time.
We are precious.
And one day our suffering
Will turn into the wonders of earth."
(from 'An African Elegy')

Stars don't die
For when stars burn out or burst
They only end up as cosmic dust
And their stardust become the gems of the universe.

Funso Alabi, I refuse to mourn you with tears and gnashing of teeth in sorrow
For Nigeria will soon hear the echoes of your voice in the songs of tomorrow
For I can still hear the whispers of your voice in the winds.
The winds our eyes cannot see, yet we cannot deny the breath.
Funsoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!
Jesu Kristi Olugbala wa ti bawa segun iku!

Funso Alabi, the Bard of Akoka.

Keshi,
We are immortal.
But we can only see this when we close our mortal eyes.

God bless.
