Ben Murray-Bruce and Lynn Whitfield
The numero uno of Entertainment in Nigeria, Ben Murray-Bruce and famous American actress, Lynn Whitfield on December 3, 2011, the closing gala of the 2nd AFRIFF International Film Festival at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
Ben was born on February 18, 1956 in Lagos to an Ijaw parent Mullighan and Margaret Murray-Bruce from Akassa, Bayelsa State of Nigeria. He attended the famous Our Lady of Apostles, in Yaba, Lagos and St Gregory College in Obalende. He studied Marketing and Business at the University of Southern Carolina.He is the Chairman/Founder of the Silverbird Group, the largest entertainment corporation in Nigeria and Africa. Consisting of Silverbird Entertainment, Silverbird Cinemas, Rhythm FM Radio Stations and Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) Beauty Pageant and other related ventures.
Lynn Whitfield (born May 6, 1953) began her acting career in television and theatre, before progressing to supporting roles in film. She won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Special and a NAACP Image Award for her performance as Josephine Baker in the HBO movie The Josephine Baker Story (1991). She also won NAACP Image awards for her work in Touched by an Angel (1998), The Planet of Junior Brown (2000) and Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story (2004).
