Greektown Casino-Hotel Announces Opening of Hotel Tower

Detroit, Michigan (February 13, 2009) /PRNewswire/ — Greektown Casino-Hotel officially opened its new hotel tower February 12 at 5 p.m. EST, officials announced today. The 30-story, 400-room tower offers a modern and contemporary design accented by luminescent blue glass windows.

"We are excited and proud of the new hotel tower," said Randall A. Fine, The Fine Point Group Managing Director and recently appointed (subject to regulatory approvals) Chief Executive Officer of Greektown Casino-Hotel. "Greektown Casino-Hotel was a great property before this new addition, but now we have even more to offer our patrons, from luxurious accommodations to fine dining, and outstanding meeting and convention space. This project not only adds a significant boost to the Detroit economy through the addition of some 300 new jobs, it has also supported the local construction industry as well as local artists and designers. The new hotel tower is all about positive growth – for Greektown and for Detroit."

At starting rates of just $99, guests can enjoy spectacular views of downtown Detroit, the Detroit River and Canada from 400 elegantly appointed guest rooms including 29 luxurious two- and three-bedroom suites. Rooms feature large plasma televisions, high speed wireless Internet, work stations with ergonomic desk chairs, iPod® docking stations, deluxe mini-bars, in-room safe, coffee and tea maker, two-line speaker phones and luxury "sleep easy" beds with 300 thread count sheets.

At more than 420,000 square feet, space for amenities abound. The hotel lobby itself is a work of art, boasting an immense hand-blown glass chandelier in the image of a torch flame. A huge fireplace extends above the front desk which is framed by a hanging staircase. Dutch metal gold leaf covers the lobby walls as well as enormous concrete decorative elements with curves that compliment the linear planes of the retro-chic modern décor. Just off the lobby, guests will find a business/concierge center with computer access, continental breakfast and coffee, and staff to fulfill their needs. The hotel also offers a fitness center with modern workout machines and yet another spectacular view.

The tower will also offer several new food and beverage options. Guests can take advantage of Shades Lounge, where Go-Go servers and people watching will offer an entertaining diversion. For culinary delights, Bistro 555 brings the ultimate in casual dining with a contemporary yet eclectic style. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests can enjoy a meal amongst the oversized lamps, graceful arcs of see-through gold-bead curtains and the reflective ceiling that once again showcases the visually-enticing combination of curves and linear planes. For guest convenience, 24-hour in-room dining is available.

"The new hotel tower here at Greektown brings an amazing amount of added value to the overall property. Our entire team has been working hard to get this property up and running and we're very pleased with the end result. The tower itself has some spectacular elements as do the amenities within, and our guests are going to get a great experience in a unique space at an affordable price point," said Bill Williams, Greektown Casino-Hotel Vice President of Guest Services.
