Love Lives On Even When Nothing Else Matters

I have to cope with the stress of the megacity of Lagos since I returned after staying long on Bonny Island. I have been busy doing my best for the public appreciation of the new Supple magazine. I am glad and grateful to the Almighty God for the corporate and general public acceptance of the magazine. My commitment to the progress and success of Supple is a labour of love as illustrated in the following poem I composed out of my love for the magazine.
The success of the Publisher is my success.

I was captivated by her lithe supple body
As she swayed to the rhythm of my melody.
She smiled at me with glints in her bright eyes
As she greeted me with her sparkling white teeth.
I stretched out my hands to welcome her into my heart and soul
She sauntered into my loving arms and we locked in the communion of love.

I gave a young woman named Peace, the opportunity to work, but she lied that she could operate a PC. The Publisher of Supple tested her and she failed. She did not report for work today. She was recommended by Chichi, the secretary of the Publisher.
Later Chichi told me that she was in a bad mood and she was looking drepressed. I asked her what was troubling her and she told me that she was sad, because her family had no money to pay for her compulsory matriculation examination. She told me the examination fee and I said that was not a problem, because she would get the money for it from me. She smiled and was now looking happy. Charity is the greatest love. Charity should not be a difficult task. Be happy and merry in caring and sharing.

Love inspires me to act or react in response to what I see, hear or feel. Love keeps me going even when other things no longer move me. I live and work for love and love is the elixir of my life.

How Much Is Your Life Worth Beyond Your Income?
How do you evaluate the worth of your life?

You have a good job and you earn a seven-digit salary, with substantial savings and shares, but if suddenly you expire, what legacy have you left behind, besides your wife, children, and private possessions?

I have seen people whose greatest achievement in life is just their savings, shares, and private properties.
They have no legacy.
They have contributed little or nothing to the advancement of their local community or humanity, except the taxes they paid as salary earners.

Many years ago, when I was in my mid-twenties and an editor of a children’s magazine, I met a teenage boy who was a cobbler. I wanted to know what circumstances made him not to be in school like other children. He told me that he was fatherless and his very poor mother gave him out to an uncle who brought him to Lagos to become a houseboy. I asked him what he wanted to do. He said he would like to buy his own shoe-making machine and I was able to give him the money. I did not see him again until many years later. He was now a young man, working as a professional tailor and a budding scriptwriter. Today, he is a screenwriter and film editor.

Those who are using the children of other parents as houseboys and house girls, would you be willing to give out your own children as housemaids and houseboys?

Only evil and wicked people will exploit the economic and social disabilities of others and make them their servants, they pay starvation wages and treat them like sub-humans.

Would it not be better and worthy to sponsor these poor and needy humans to get the education they need or start the business they would like to do and become productive, so that they can add more value to our community and humanity?

I know fellow Nigerians who waste over N500, 000 (five hundred thousand naira) for only 20 days accommodation in a luxury hotel when they could have spent half of that sum in a very comfortable guest house and give the remaining sum to the needy to pay for the school fees of their children or give them a decent accommodation.
N20, 000 (twenty thousand naira) only is enough for a poor widow to start a lucrative trade. N250, 000 will be enough to start a cottage industry to employ many jobless people and improve their living standards.

Let us make a positive impact in the lives of others and see the positive development in the advancement of our community and humanity.

It is easy to live and pretend that all is well, but we cannot escape from the wrath of the earth that there are evils plaguing millions of people in different parts of the world, such as in the Congo where the devils have left 5,400,000 Dead.

Iraq is not the worst conflict in the world. Congo is the worst of all nightmares of human conflicts.

I have to remind as many people as I can that the greatest love is not what we waste billions of dollars for the lust of the flesh in our so called romantic and erotic fairy tale relationships.
Of course any dummy can fall in love and live in a fool's paradise.

Yes, I am very good at that and have put smiles on the cheesy faces of many dolls and bimbos. But I am not ignorant of my greatest passion which is my mission as a Christian. Charity, Charity, Charity.

Charity is not giving alms to beggars on the street.
Charity is not giving toys to children of the poor and needy.
Charity is not giving old clothes to the poor and needy.

Charity is not giving leftovers to those you think have no better choice.

Charity is not your vain Christianity of superficiality.

Charity is more than giving meal tickets to the hungry.
Charity is more than giving the clothes you cannot wear to the refugees.

Charity is giving the best to the poor and needy.
Charity is making sacrifices to save precious lives and transforming lives.

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, McBride will join Mary Kay and CMA Chief Executive Officer Tammy Genovese at The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to unveil the celebrity-smooched "kiss cards" and show her ongoing commitment to the prevention of domestic violence.


"As a performer, I am lucky to have the opportunity to share my messages with the public, but through 'A Kiss for Country,' Mary Kay is allowing me to spread hope," said Martina McBride, the longtime champion of the cause against domestic violence. "Through the kisses of my fellow Country Music artists and the generous contributions of the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, we are hoping to help put an end to domestic violence."


To help Mary Kay kiss domestic violence goodbye, spokesperson Martina McBride and participating Country Music artists, including Reba McEntire, Sara Evans, Jennifer Hanson, Miranda Lambert, Jo Dee Messina, Jennifer Nettles, Tanya Tucker and Wynonna applied their favorite Mary Kay lip products, ranging from Mary Kay Crème Lipstick in Mocha Freeze to Mary Kay NouriShine Lip Gloss in Pink Diamonds, and imparted their lip prints on specially designed "kiss cards." Adding a fun element, the lip prints were analyzed by a professional "kissologist" and will be displayed backstage at the Mary Kay Makeup Touch-Up Station at the 2007 CMA Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Mary Kay is stepping up the commitment by providing a $20,000 grant to a women's shelter through the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation in each participating artist's name in exchange for their kiss print. These grants will be awarded in 2008 to women's domestic violence shelters in each of the 50 states. In 2008, the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation pledges to donate up to $3 million to women's shelters around the country.
