Don't Be Desperate For Love Or You Will Never Find True Love

Love does not insist on its will, because love is not a dictator.
Anyone who forces himself or herself on you is not in love with you, but only obsessed with you.

Anyone who tells you "I cannot be happy without you" is a liar.
Anyone who says "I will never love anyone else, except you" is a liar.

Never swear that your boyfriend or girlfriend will never cheat on you, because you will be disappointed in the end.
What determines the state of your relationship and how long it will last is neither you nor your lover, but the seen and unforeseen circumstances of Time.
For what determines our actions and choices are in most cases are propelled by circumstances and the consequences of our reactions to these circumstances and not by who we are or what we have.

In romance, action and reaction are not opposite and equal.
And in love, what goes up may never come down.

The end of a relationship is not the end of your love.
That is why your ex may still be missing you now.

Anyone who tells lies to date you does not love you.
For anyone who lies to you is already unfaithful to you.

Do not date anyone you don't know how he or she lives at home and behaves at work.
Meaning, you must find out before you agree to date anyone.
Only fools don't find out before jumping into bed with anyone.

Do not chase after anyone who is chasing after another person.

Only fools date those who cannot improve their lives.

You cannot give what you don't have.

KINI BIG DEAL? Guys, Gals, Love and Sex

KINI BIG DEAL?
Is our local Lagos Yoruba Pidgin English slang meaning What is the big deal?.

Guys love chasing pretty and sexy babes to date them more for sex than anything else and I have noticed that they later don't get excited about loving them after they have slept with them.
In fact, the guy that was calling the babe many times to ask her out is now sometimes hissing and saying that she is disturbing him and in many cases he will simply dump her and move on to his next target in his romantic pursuits.

To majority of girls and women, romance is the pursuit of happiness and to them regular sex does not mean happiness, but being peaceful and secure with their guy means more to them than sex. But to majority of guys, romance to them is the pursuit of regular sex and powered by their libido. That is why you see many guys who don't even care about the grades of their girlfriends or their career prospects as long as they are giving them regular sex.

I have seen a pathetic case where the babe could not even discuss her academic and professional assignments with the guy, because he never showed any interest. And he is a boyfriend?

When your passion in any relationship is nothing more than sex, then you will never have a fulfilled love life. And that is why you will end up flirting, cheating and even ending your relationship or becoming bored and miserable in marriage.

I don't understand why a guy cannot be happy and merry with his girlfriend or wife without sex?
I dated a very pretty and sexy big girl for over two years and we had great fun all over Lagos and we abstained from sex, because I wanted to avoid fornication and believe it or not she was faithful even though other guys harassed her for sex, because their fantasy was to sleep with her. She was really hotter than summer and sometimes she would go out only in an over-sized T-shirt without any underwear and made the guys drool with stiff Attention and we often laughed at them. My male cousins and friends begged me to take her out and I allowed them and sometimes she even took them along in her own car. But they gave up when she refused to sleep with them. To them, just enjoying her friendship would not be enough.

"I just want to sleep with her," is a common phrase among guys. And it can be really annoying to hear them saying it in reference to a girl or a woman, because it shows lack of dignity and respect.
Like Igbo guys who say they can sleep with Yoruba girls or women, but cannot marry them.
Is that not a silly attitude? It is really nonsense.

It is silly to say a girl or a woman is only good for you to sleep with her, but not good enough to be your wife?
Who are you fooling?
I have seen a case where a guy dumped a girl after using her as his sex object for years and later said she was not a wife material. But she later married a man who loved her and he was a better and richer guy than the silly ex-boyfriend and in fact, her husband could pay the poor guy's salary ten times.

A guy who uses his girlfriend as sex material and then say she is not a wife material is to me a FOOL.
To God, any girl or woman you choose to sleep with is as good as being your wife.
There is no girl or woman good enough to be your lover that cannot be your wife if you truly love her.
"She does not have character,' a silly guy would whine.
And you have been dating her?
This attitude is most common among Nigerian men, because majority of them are hypocrites.
The same guy will later go and marry another girlfriend who is even worse, because in most cases, the cannot even define character.
It is most common among Igbo guys and they can be really funny.
"She does not have character," is in most cases an excuse for their own shortcomings in proving that they can be Mr. Capable.
These are the kind of guys whose passion for a girlfriend reduces after having sex with her many times and will end up cheating on her or later cheating on their wives in marriage, because intellectually they have little or nothing to offer in relationship and marriage, except making women pregnant and becoming fathers. And that is why you can see that the greatest achievement of majority of these Nigerian men is becoming fathers of many children and increasing the population of their communities.

Your passion for a babe cannot reduce if you can add more value to her life beyond just pouring your sperm into her uterus.

The passion for your girlfriend or wife reduces after sleeping with her several times and that is why most men start straying into the temptations of cheating on their babes and wives. And even go as low as sleeping with their housemaids, total strangers they meet on the street (picking up girls on the road) and at night clubs. Some have even tried to hit on the friends and sisters of their girlfriends and wives.
So, guys denying this fact are just lying.
Only few guys remain excited to sleep with their babes or wives in every season.
Many boyfriends and husbands have not slept with their girlfriends and wives for weeks, months and even years.
I have seen pathetic cases of several sex starved girlfriends and wives.
In fact, the girlfriend of a buddy got so frustrated that she came to my residence and pulled off her top and wanted me to sleep with her. I refused, but I never told her boyfriend till date.

Many girlfriends and wives later become unattractive to their men, because the guys have seen prettier and sexier babes.
Sometimes, the girlfriends and wives make themselves unattractive by simply giving up making themselves attractive after hooking or getting married to a guy.
They lose their sexy figure.
They don't maintain that hot look that attracted their guys to come for them.
They sooner or later start to even misbehave and turn off their guys.

After working so hard to hook a hot chick and got her, she later started showing some habits I never noticed before when she was only visiting.
She would use the toilet without washing her hands.
She would use my towel to clean her womanliness and hang it again for me to use it after bathing.
And she loved to argue aloud.
My passion waned and I politely left her with the good excuse of spiritual abstinence and she could not abstain with me and it was good riddance to bad rubbish.

No matter how much you love a girlfriend or wife, your passion for her will reduce once she loses what attracted you to date her or marry her.

Amaka Igwe Has Passed On To Eternal Glory

Today is a sad day in Nollywood.

Africa's largest film industry has just lost Amaka Igwe, 51, one of the greatest icons of Nigerian TV and Film.

She passed on to eternal glory in the early hours of Tuesday, April 29, 2014.

Reliable sources said she suffered an Asthma attack and died on the way to the nearest hospital.

Amaka Igwe to me, was the "Mama of Nollywood", because of her outstanding motherly role in leadership and mentoring many young men and young women she helped to excel and succeed as actors, producers and managers on TV and the big screen. And her name will be written in gold for her great legacy in the history of Nollywood.

Mrs. Igwe is survived by her husband Mr. Charles Igwe, their three children Ruby, David and Daniel, her mother and other members of her family and relations.

May God grant us the fortitude to bear this great loss.

About Amaka Igwe, nee Isaac Ene, from Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA

Foremost producer, writer, director and a leading player in the Nigerian motion picture industry, Amaka Igwe may not have started shooting movies in 1992 but it is not in doubt that Amaka Igwe’s effort as a motion picture practitioner has drawn international recognition for the burgeoning Nigerian motion picture industry. Some of her early efforts like Checkmate and Violated have largely remained a watershed in the history of soaps and movie productions in Nigeria.

Born to Isaac Ene, a retired civil engineer from Obinagu-Udi in Enugu State whom Amaka described as ‘very principled’, Amaka whom her father called GOC (General Officer Commanding) because of the leadership trait she exhibited as a tot, was born and bred in Enugu.

An old girl of All Saint School, now Trans Ekulu Primary School, Girls High School Awkunanaw, Enugu and Idia College in Benin City where she had her A levels, It was at Idia College that Amaka’s arts inclination fully germinated. While at Idia, Amaka recalled organizing variety shows for her house which attracted a fee paying audience. She acted and directed the plays that were staged and she also taught the group the famous atilogwu dance which became the schools official dance. She recalled leading the group to a performance at the Ogbe Stadium in Benin. One of the foremost movie directors and by far one of the few contemporary filmmakers in the professional class, it was as a class one pupil of All Saint School Enugu that the once skinny Amaka who gained some weight after her first delivery experienced a play production. It took that production written by Amaka’s sister who was in secondary school then for a creative zeal to be fired up.

Popular in her early school days as Ogwu Azu, (Igbo word for Fish bone) because of her slim built frame, Amaka wanted to study law but in the wisdom of officials of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) she was offered a chance to study Education and Religious Studies at the University of Ife. From University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Amaka who signed the MNET short celluloid film ‘Barbers Wisdom’ as director proceeded to the University of Ibadan where she grabbed a master's degree in Library and Information Services. In between, Amaka took part in a number of theatrical productions particularly as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) drama troupe. With the NYSC troupe, Amaka took plays around Nigeria.

It was when she returned to Enugu after her NYSC programme that she started learning about television. She found the massive studios of the Enugu State Broadcasting Service from where such classics like the long rested Basi and Company and the New Masquerade were produced, a good ground to learn how programmes are produced. Not only was Amaka fascinated by the sheer massiveness of the ESBS studios, her creative drive was further accelerated when she encountered on screen, the work of the inimitable female television director Lola Fani Kayode. An icon who is well regarded and who a number of practitioners consider a mentor and big auntie, Amaka disclosed that she conceived Checkmate by watching Mirror in the Sun. She had written a script about an all conquering female hero like Queen Amina and had conceived it like a traditional stage play. But when she saw Mirror in the Sun, she decided to make it a modern all conquering female heroine story.

The driving force behind BOBTV an acronym for the Best of the Best African Film and Television Programmes market and CEO of Amaka Igwe Studios an outfit that is best known for dropping off quality television and video offerings, Amaka Igwe’s vision of providing a common access point for good and authentic movies and television programmes led to her conceptualizing and eventual staging BOBTV, an annual event that has clearly facilitated the buying and selling of audio-visual content, the brokerage of production deals as well as the facilitation of world class skill transfer and training for African producers.

An amiable and warm personality who is in love with African prints, Amaka who has received numerous industry awards including that of life time achievement from the organisers of the annual African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has her creative pouch filled with works that have been rated as best seller.s. Amaka who has penned scripts for some notable producers and production outfits is married to Charles Igwe who is not only in charge of the business angle of what is liberally called Showbiz but he has brought his experience to bear as a banker in the management of the resources of the families well regarded production company.

His new social media project iPost Nigeria has attracted the attention of major international companies and organizations. Orikinla is expected to complete his theatrical work "Chi Amanda" during the course of his residency. "Chi Amanda" chronicles the lamentations of three women from the three dominant tribes in Nigeria who fled from different agonies of domestic violence and also tackles the plight of a young woman with the burden of unwanted pregnancy. Orikinla's last major theatrical work "Sleepless Night", the first play on the martyrdom of Chief MKO Abiola and the June 12 Crisis was premiered in July 2002 at the old French Cultural Center in Ikoyi, Lagos. It was co-sponsored by United Artists for Human Development (UAHD), French Cultural Center and Dele Momodu, Publisher of the popular Ovation International magazine. The cast was from the famous Crown Troupe of Africa led by Segun Adefila featured in the award winning documentary "Bariga Boy".

The centre has since hosted people such as Michael Harding, Loreena Mckennitt, Oonagh Kearney, Derval Symes, Page Allen, Roisin Meaney, Anne Rigney, Gemma Browne, Colette Bryce, Phil Coulter, Brian Kennedy and Peter McCann.

The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is a centre for creative artists at Annaghmakerrig, Newbliss, County Monaghan, Ireland, founded in 1981.
The mansion was the family home of theatrical director Sir William Tyrone Guthrie (2 July 1900 – 15 May 1971).

The centre accommodates eleven residents and there are five self-catering cottages plus a facility and studio for a disabled artist and carer. Each artist must apply individually to the Board of Management and submit examples of their work. To be accepted as a resident, an artist must have demonstrated a proven track record in their field. Facilities include a baby grand piano, seven studios for visual artists, a performance space, an acoustic recording studio, a dark room for black and white photography and a recently added print studio. The ethos of the house is focussed on facilitating creative work within a welcoming, homelike and trusted environment. The only condition of residency is that all the artists must assemble for the evening meal. This was one of the terms of Guthrie’s will as he felt that conversation over good food would encourage creativity and collaboration. The Centre was one of the first North/South collaborations in the early 1980s and was managed as a joint venture by the Arts Council of the North and South of Ireland.

Many artists have commented on the fact that a stay in the Centre has given them the time and space to produce creative work and it is no exaggeration to describe the Centre as a place of heightened creativity.

Lupita Nyong'o and Steve McQueen Make History As "12 Years a Slave" Wins 3 Oscars!

Kenyan actress Lupita Amondi Nyong’o has become the first Kenyan to be nominated and also win an Oscar by winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards held in Los Angeles, California on Sunday night for her role in the movie "12 Years a Slave" that won the Academy Award for Best Picture and also making history as the first movie from a black director to do so in 86 years of the Oscars. Steve McQueen, the British director was ecstatic as his film also won Best Adapted screenplay.

“Everyone deserves not just to survive but to live, this is the most important legacy of Solomon Northup,” said McQueen in his acceptance speech.

The 2013 historical drama film is an adaptation of the 1853 memoir of the same title by Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free negro who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C. in 1841 and sold into slavery. He worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana for twelve years before his release. The first scholarly edition of Northup's memoir, co-edited in 1968 by Sue Eakin and Joseph Logsdon, carefully retraced and validated the account and concluded it to be accurate.

"12 Years a Slave" received critical acclaim following its release in 2013, and was named the best film of the year by several media outlets. It also proved to be a box office success, earning over $128 million on a budget of $20 million. In 2014, the film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Drama and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) recognized the film with a Best Film award and a Best Actor award for Nigerian born British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.

"When I look down at this golden statue may it remind me, and every little child, that no matter where you are from your dreams are valid," she said.
Lupita Nyong'o made history by becoming the first Kenyan to win an Oscar.

"You are the pride of Africa!" President Uhuru Kenyatta exclaimed on Twitter celebrating Kenya's first major Oscar win by actress Lupita Nyong'o.
"It is our intention that Lupita becomes the first of an endless line of Oscar nominees and winners from Africa and Kenya," he said.
