Men Over 40 Who Want To Date Younger Women

Men over 40 who want to date younger women:
The Deal Is To Avoid Looking Like An Idiot.

THREE CAPITAL REASONS WHY PEOPLE CHEAT

THE FOLLOWING THREE REASONS MAKE LOVERS AND SPOUSES CHEAT.

1. INSECURITY.
2. IMMATURITY.
3. INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

New relationships, marriages, and courtships are usually fun and
exciting until something goes wrong.
Being personally violated by a loved one is one of the deepest wounds to
be cut with. You believe something like this will never happen to you until
it does. Please learn that if you are the individual who has been violated,
you did nothing wrong.
When an affair develops those involved may use excuses and untruths to
validate their actions. Also, if exposed or confronted some may not want
to be held accountable for their behavior or pay any consequences. This is
not in every case that is why I am saying only some.
Violated relationships can either dissolve permanently or can mend
over time. For those that mend it takes a lot of time, patience and
understanding. Broken trust is the hardest aspect to earn again.
A very important lesson I am hoping to teach my readers is if you are in a
relationship with someone and are tempted to be with someone else, you
end the relationship you are currently in and then move on. You have no
right to cheat and hurt another human being.

For Ogbonna Amadi: What is Going On?

Ogbonna Amadi.

For Ogbonna Amadi: What is Going On?

When Hope Obioma Opara woke me up early this morning with the heartrending news of what suddenly happened to Mr. Ogbonna Amadi yesterday, time stood still as I gasped in shock. How could this happen to the charismatic Entertainment Editor of Vanguard Newspaper of Nigeria?

Yes, people die. But sudden and untimely deaths make us to raise eyebrows of shock, because God does not wish anyone to suddenly pass away when He created and wired us to live beyond 70 years as He said His wishes for us are of good and not evil. So, we don’t expect, pray or wish for the worst when God our maker has made us for the best.

That is why the news of sudden death of Ogbonna Amadi has left me angry and sad, because such unfortunate occurrences would have been prevented if we have well equipped and well staffed healthcare centres, clinics and hospitals in every community in Nigeria and if the evil and wicked rogues in government have not misappropriated the revenue allocations meant for these provisions for the CommonHealth of all Nigerians.

Ogbonna Amadi contributed to the success of many people in the entertainment industry, especially in Nollywood and music, and I will never forget that he did his best to promote and secure the recognition of our annual Eko International Film Festival. And he also supported me in the publicity for the screenings of Faruk Lasaki’s Changing Faces movie at the cinemas in Nigeria. The last time I saw him was at the press conference for Changing Faces at the popular rendezvous for Nollywood stars and other entertainers, the Ojez Restaurant inside the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. He was looking dapper in his suit as he joined me and Victor Akande of The Nation newspapers to coordinate the press conference. We are going to miss him and I hope everyone will support an initiative in his memory, like an annual Prize for the Best Nollywood Movie Review.

As a special tribute to Ogbonna Amadi, I play the following video of Marvin Gaye's What's Going On. It was Gaye's 11th studio album released on May 21, 1971.

As we console the bereaved family of Ogbonna Amadi and mourn this great loss, let us say the truth and query those who have failed to provide the appropriate healthcare system for which they have been collecting their fat salaries, bogus allowances and revenue allocations for years. The Minister of health, colleagues and their political godfathers, lobbyists and sponsors must be held accountable for their failures.

The same complaints have been made over and over again for years on the deplorable collapse of healthcare system in the most populous country in Africa where the government has failed to invest in the education and training of medical doctors, nurses and paramedical workers, but keeps on appointing incompetent people as ministers of health to worsen the appalling state of the teaching hospitals and schools of nursing in Nigeria.

I wonder how many of them have visited the colleges of medicine, schools of nursing and medical laboratories and see how horrifying and terrifying they are?
Of course they know that the local healthcare system cannot guarantee the survival of patients in emergencies, because they have misappropriated the revenue allocations for the health sector and will always fly overseas to America, Europe and Asia for the appropriate first class healthcare services they have denied the poor majority abandoned and neglected to face their eerie fate of suffering and dying from preventable illnesses, crimes and other crises in Nigeria. How can people be so cruel and evil to their fellow citizens and still have the audacity to collect fat salaries and allowances and cruise about in government cars and SUVs as presidents, governors, lawmakers, ministers and commissioners and other public posts?
Do you know how many thousands of lives lost suddenly and untimely so far because of the incompetence and maladministration of those elected and appointed to run our government?
For how long shall we continue to bear and tolerate these evil public office holders in Nigeria?
For how long are we going to whine and still watch these demons continue to destroy more innocent lives and wreck Nigeria?
Should we allow these evil and wicked demons in public office to go scot-free?

Until we do our best to demand and secure our rights to good first class healthcare system , security and other “Must Have” facilities and utilities for which our public office holders have been elected and appointed and paid to provide, there will never be peace and unity in this nation and the Nigerian Dream will never come true.

May the blessed soul of Ogbonna Amadi rest in peace and may God who alone knows the depth of our loss comfort us and increase our grace in the vineyard of the Nigerian Dream in the nation building of a New Nigeria for our common good.

Majority of Workers Say Gossip is Most Common Form of Office Politics

Office Gossip. Photo Credit: Work Relationships.

Unlike many bloggers who cannot tell the difference between gossip and news, we can separate the wheat from the chaff. We have a NO GOSSIP policy, but Psst ... Have You Heard the News About Office Politics?
Do you believe this?

Read news release.

Majority of Workers Surveyed Cite Gossip as Most Common Form of Office Politics

TORONTO, Aug. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Politics may be better left outside of the office, a new Robert Half survey suggests. Four in 10 (40 per cent) workers interviewed characterized themselves as "occasional voters" when participating in office politics, limiting their involvement to issues that affect them directly. Another 39 per cent said they are "neutral parties" who stay completely out of the fray.

Although most employees report not being heavily involved in office politics, 56 per cent have observed political maneuverings on the job. Chief among these activities is gossiping, cited by 54 per cent of respondents, followed by flattering the boss to gain favour (20 per cent) and taking credit for others' work (17 per cent).

The survey was developed by Robert Half International, the world's first and largest specialized staffing firm. It was conducted by an independent research firm and is based on telephone interviews with more than 700 workers in North America who are 18 years of age or older and employed in an office environment.

Workers were asked, "Which one of the following most closely describes your involvement in office politics?" Their responses:

Active campaigner: I have to play
the game to get ahead ....................... 14%
Occasional voter: I get involved when
issues are important to me .................. 40%
A neutral party: I stay completely
out of the fray ............................. 39%
Don't know/no answer ......................... 7%
----
100%

Workers also were asked, "In your opinion, which of the following activities is most common in your office when it comes to office politics?" Their responses:*

Gossiping or spreading rumours ............... 54%
Gaining favour by flattering the boss ........ 20%
Taking credit for others' work ............... 17%
Sabotaging coworkers' projects ............... 2%
Other ........................................ 7%
----
100%

* Responses represent 399 of 716 workers (56 per cent), who cited office politics in their workplace.

"Becoming embroiled in office politics is never a good career move, but it's wise to be aware of political undercurrents on the job because they do exist in most organisations," said Max Messmer, Chairman and CEO of Robert Half International and author of Managing Your Career For Dummies(R), 2nd Edition (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.). "There are people who seek to get ahead in their careers at the expense of others, and this behaviour erodes trust and undermines team morale."

Following are five types of office "politicians" and advice from Robert Half for effectively working with them:

1. The Gossip Hound. This person loves spreading rumours and can often
be found hovering around the water cooler, speculating about a
variety of sensitive issues. Keep your distance from the Gossip Hound
and don't say anything you wouldn't say to someone directly.
2. The Credit Thief. This individual loves the spotlight and relishes
taking credit for other people's work. When collaborating with a
Credit Thief, document your contributions. Provide regular updates to
your supervisor and correct any misrepresentations about your work.
3. The Sycophant. "Shameless" is this person's middle name -- he or she
will offer fulsome flattery to anyone who is in a position of power.
Although it may be hard to watch, don't sweat the Sycophant's
tactics. Most managers can see through them. Give kudos to deserving
individuals, regardless of their position.
4. The Saboteur. Watch your back when working with this person, who
loves to play the blame game and make others look bad. Limit your
interaction with this master manipulator and make sure to stand up
for yourself. Often, the Saboteur will back down when confronted.
5. The Adviser. This professional is often closely aligned with an
executive and serves as his or her eyes and ears. Develop a good
rapport with the Adviser because he or she could have a direct line
to the top.

To help professionals keep the political tone at work positive, Robert Half has introduced a new career guide, How to Navigate Office Politics: Your Guide to Getting Ahead, and videos illustrating office politics gone awry as part of the firm's ongoing video series, "Don't Let This Happen to You." Both can be found at roberthalf.ca/bloopers.

Supple Magazine’s Sexiest Black Woman Alive Challenges Esquire’s Sex Symbols

Tracy Obonna, Supple Magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive.

Rihanna, Esquire's 2011 Sexiest Woman Alive.

Supple Magazine’s Sexiest Black Woman Alive Challenges Esquire’s Sex Symbols

Esquire’s celebrated Sexiest Woman Alive has defined the status quo of female sex symbols in entertainment for years without any critical objection to the selection process, because the chosen sexiest women have been based on the popular choice of millions of the readers and fans from a short list of nominees. But the selection of nominees who are always predominantly Caucasian sex symbols is warped by racial prejudice of the White controlled American news media. That is why most of their so called sexiest women alive in the world have been Caucasian bimbos with only few exceptions such as Halle Berry and Rihanna and this is what Supple magazine is challenging by naming Tracy Obonna, aka The Nigerian Bombshell as the Sexiest Black Woman Alive.

Tracy Obonna is hotter, prettier and sexier than Rihanna, 2011 Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive and 90 per cent of those on the list of FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in The World 2012. The American born Nigerian sex symbol is the epitome of beauty with brains whose amazing voluptuous body makes Rihanna and every other Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive look ordinary from head to toe, because Tracy Obonna, aka the Nigerian Bombshell is actually sexier than them all. And it is also necessary to correct the erroneous notion of the narrow-minded selection of Esquire over the years, because it is generally wrong to name any woman sexiest woman alive without any consideration for the most eligible women outside America, which is what American tabloids have been doing in discrimination and disregard of other exotic beautiful and voluptuous women who are not recognized by the narrow-minded American news media. The American news media wants to dictate trends to the rest of us, but this is unacceptable, because the rest of the world is different from America and not inferior to America. What is hot or not in America is different from what is hot or not in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Europe.

~ Supple Magazine.

I agree with Supple’s point of view, because it is justified and long over due to dismiss the racial discrimination against non Caucasian sex symbols in the selection of the so called sexiest women or men in the world. The exclusion of Tracy Obonna from the nominees for Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive and FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World is questionable to say the least or she is not popular enough. By the way, how can white women with flabby buttocks be sexier than the voluptuous "Bootylicious" Beyoncé Knowles, Tracy Obonna and other sexy non-Caucasian beauties in the world? Please, let’s be honest and stop the racist attitude of these racy American tabloids promoting the superior feel good factor of Caucasians and their ritzy lifestyles to the detriment of blacks, Hispanics, Asians and others!

In the anatomy of beauty and the sexuality of femininity when compared to the sexiest women of Esquire and FHM, Tracy is prettier and sexier than most of them, thus making nonsense of Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive and FHM’s hot list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World. But who is Tracy Obonna?

Tracy was born to Nigerian parents in Washington D.C.,USA. She has also lived in London and Lagos. When Tracy was six years old, her parents made the decision to move to Toronto, Canada. Growing up in Canada, Tracy grew a passion for the arts. She participated in numerous school plays and dance recitals. Somewhere in the midst of practicing ballet and tap moves, Tracy developed another passion for both watching and playing sports. In the the sixth grade, Tracy began playing volleyball very seriously…as a result of her hard work combined with dedication, she was able to receive a scholarship to play Division 1 volleyball for Youngstown State University in Ohio. Her sister Vanessa Obonna is also an exotic beauty queen and model.

Look After Your Skin this Summer

LONDON, August 23, 2012/PRNewswire/ --

Club 18 - 30 is proud to provide brilliant value sun-filled holidays to thousands of young revellers every year.

It is also proud to have teamed up with the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is running a campaign to raise awareness among teenagers and young adults about how serious skin cancer is.

The facts speak for themselves. Skin cancer rates have shot up over the past three decades, and it is now the second most common cancer in people aged between 15 and 24 - exactly the sort of people who love a great value beach break.

You might spend months planning cheap Magaluf holidays [http://www.club18-30.com/resorts/mallorca ] or booking that trip to Kos [http://www.club18-30.com/resorts/kos ], but how much effort do you put into protecting your skin from the sun's harsh rays?

The Teenage Cancer Trust's campaign, Shunburn [http://www.teenagecancertrust.org/what-we-do/education/shunburn ], is fronted by the actors Nicholas Hoult and Michelle Ryan, and it reveals some terrifying statistics about our attitudes to skincare in the sun.

A whopping 60 percent of young people don't always apply sun cream when on the beach. One in ten believe that covering up on the beach is not cool, and 44 percent of young people lie in the sun for hours on end.

Cheap clubbing holidays 2012 [http://www.club18-30.com ] might be the best way to avoid dreary weather and Olympic chaos in the UK, but lots of young people care more about how they look to their peers than having a great time while they're abroad. For example, 12 percent of 16-24 year olds believe that a tan is proof that you have been on holiday to a nice place.

40 percent think that people look healthier with a tan. This is one of the most difficult attitudes to shift when it comes to tanning - lying in the sun is incredibly dangerous, but it appears as if it's a healthy thing to do.

Not everyone sets out with poor intentions. Some young people simply forget to apply sun cream when they're outside. That's why Club 18 - 30 is sponsoring the Teenage Cancer Trust's clever "Burn Alerts", a free text message service which reminds you to stay safe in the sun during the hottest days of the year - sign up by texting BURN2 to 70300.

The Scorpion and the Frog

The Scorpion and the Frog

"Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil."1

You've no doubt read the old fable about the scorpion and the frog. It illustrates how man's nature is much more devious and controlling than is his logic.

The fable says how, "One day a scorpion arrived at the bank of a river he wanted to cross, but there was no bridge. He asked a frog that was sitting nearby if he would take him across the river on his back. The frog refused and said, 'I will not, because you will sting me.'

"The scorpion replied, 'It would be foolish for me to sting you because then we would both drown.'

"The frog saw the logic in the scorpion's words, and agreed to carry the scorpion across. But when they were halfway across the river the scorpion stung the frog. The stunned frog asked, 'Why did you sting me? Now we will both die!'

"The scorpion replied, 'Because I'm a scorpion … and that's what scorpions do.'"

Have you ever noticed that God is not concerned about being "politically correct?" Sad to say some people today are more concerned about being "politically correct" than they are about being "biblically correct." They change the name of sins to justify people's sinful behavior. They do this because they are more concerned about the approval of man than they are about the approval of God. To God, sin—all sin—is sin by whatever name we call it, and all sin is ultimately self-destructive regardless of how we seek to justify it.

Furthermore, God's Word reminds us that no matter how good, how noble, how educated, how refined, or how sophisticated we may be, we are all sinners.2 Like the leopard that cannot change its spots neither can we change our nature. We are not sinners because we sin, but rather, we sin because we are sinners. That's our nature and that's why we need God's salvation to save us from the eternal consequences of our sin—which is eternal separation from God for all eternity in the place the Bible calls hell.

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, thank you for providing a way of escape from the eternal consequences of my sinful nature in that you gave your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross in my place to pay the punishment for all my sins. Help me to be certain that I am a true Christian, and that I have received your gift of forgiveness and eternal life. And dear Jesus, because you died for me, please help me to live for you always in all ways. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

<:))))>< Friday, August 24, 2012 Excuses, Excuses, Excuses "When all was ready, he sent his servant around to notify the guests that it was time for them to come. But they all began making excuses. One said he had just bought a field and wanted to inspect it, so he asked to be excused. Another said he had just bought five pair of oxen and wanted to try them out"1 "Douglas Bernstein, a psychology professor at the University of Illinois, recently asked faculty members for the 'most unusual, bizarre and amazing student excuses' they had ever heard. He got dozens." Following are a few: "An old favorite, but one professor's class established some sort of record when 14 out of 250 students reported their grandmothers' deaths just before final exams. In another class a student reported that he could not take the mid-term because his grandmother had died. When the instructor expressed condolences a week later, the student replied, 'Oh, don't worry. She was terminal, but she's feeling much better now.' "I had an accident, the police impounded the car, and my paper is in the glove compartment." "I can't be at the exam because my cat is having kittens, and I'm her coach." "I need to take the final early because the husband of the woman I'm seeing is threatening to kill me."2 Excuses go all the way back to Adam and Eve who said when they blew it, "The devil made me do it." Yeah. Right! Sir Walter Scott put it realistically when he wrote, "Oh, what tangled webs we weave / When first we practice to deceive." Of one thing we can be sure. God sees all and knows all. We can never deceive him. There will be no excuses when we stand before him on our final examination day, "As it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."3 To make sure you are prepared for your final exam be sure to read, "How to Be Sure You're a Real Christian" online at: http://tinyurl.com/real-christian. Suggested prayer: "Dear God, please deliver me from the self-deception of excuses. Help me always to tell the truth and accept responsibility for my foul-ups. And above all, help me to admit and confess to you all my failures and sins and seek your forgiveness. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen." 1. Luke 14:17-19 (NLT). 2. Dynamic Illustrations, Mar/Apr 1995. Cited in a sermon by Rev. Dr. David E. Leininger. 3. Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV). <:))))>< Thursday, August 23, 2012 Things That Bug Us

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."1

As the ditty goes, "It's the little things that bother us and put us on the rack, you can sit upon a mountain but you can't sit on a tack."

And isn't that the truth? It's the little annoyances in life that get us tied in a knot. A slight criticism, a driver who cuts us off on the freeway, a green light that turns red before we get to it, a friend running late, and so on.

Let us realize, however, that somebody's negative reaction may have more to do with them than us. A criticism may be somebody projecting their unresolved issues onto us. Somebody failing to thank us may indicate that they are having a "bad hair" day, and somebody cutting us off on the freeway may be an indication of their impatience—as well as a reflection of ours!

What somebody else does to me may or may not be a problem. How I react, though, is always my issue, and when I overreact, that is always my problem. What the other person does is their issue. How I act, react, or overreact is always my issue and my responsibility.

If we'd remember that "whatever others think of me is none of my business," I would at least learn to cope much better with many of life's little annoyances. I know it's easier said than done, but it is a goal to work towards. Furthermore, the more mature and whole I become, the less life's little annoyances will bother me. I'm still working on this issue.

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, as it is your purpose for me, please help me to grow through the circumstances of life that 'push my hot buttons' and so become more and more like Jesus in every way. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

1. Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV).

<:))))>< Tuesday, August 21, 2012 Hello, Lord

"Pray without ceasing."1

Ivor Bailey prayed: "I enjoy talking to you every night, Lord. I tell you what's on my mind—the things that bug me, the people I meet, the challenges I face, questions I can't answer.

"Because you're my friend, I don't feel I have to dress up or use out-dated language. I can relax with you.

"Isn't that what prayer is all about, Lord? You and I sharing things we think are important. Thank you, Lord."

Besides the Lord's Prayer this is another excellent way to approach prayer—just share with God what's on your heart, what's on your mind, what you are feeling, your joys, sorrows, and so on.

Sharing feelings is what intimacy, communication and connection are all about—not only with people, but also with God. We can do this not only at night but anytime, anywhere.

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, help me to be open, honest, and real with you. You desire truth in the innermost being. Help me to share my inner truth with you—the good, the bad, the indifferent—share it all, God, no matter what. Thank you for hearing, accepting all my feelings, and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

<:))))>< Wednesday, August 22, 2012 Self-Fulfilling Prophecies

"What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me."1

If I fear that I will get sick, dwell on it, and believe it, chances are more than likely that I will get sick. If I fear that I am going to be rejected and believe it, I will act in such a way to set myself up to be rejected and, like Job, the thing I fear will happen to me.

If because of a fear of failure, criticism, of not being perfect, and so on, I never step outside my comfort zone and take risks to achieve what God envisioned for me to do, I will never discover what I could achieve with my life.

Personally speaking, if I feel strongly about a project and sense God is leading me to do this, I would rather try, put it to the test, and even fail rather than through fear of failure never step out to follow my God-given life purpose and dream. I appreciate the words of the unknown poet who wrote:

I would rather stumble a thousand times
Attempting to reach a goal,
Than to sit in a crowd
In my weather-proof shroud
A shriveled and self-satisfied soul.
I would rather be doing and daring
All of my error filled days,
Than watching, and waiting, and dying
Smug in my perfect ways.
I would rather wonder and blunder,
Stumbling blindly ahead,
Than for safety's sake
Lest I make a mistake
Be sure, be safe, be dead.

As I suggested to a friend recently, let your decisions about what to do be based on love for serving God and others, and never on your fears.

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, I admit my fears and I bring them all to you. Grant that all of my decisions will be based on direction from and love for serving you, and never on my fears. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

1. Job 3:25 (NIV).

The Girl With the Leaking Vagina

The Girl With the Leaking Vagina

The story of the girl with the leaking vagina is not fiction, but a true life story.

The girl with the leaking vagina is not a delight to sight and you may never recognize her on the street, because she does not want to be recognized in the present state of her predicament. She wants to hide the stigma and trauma of her loathsome disease that has made her cruel husband to drive her away and to be ostracized by others who have made her an object of derision as they cringe, cover their noses and spit at the first sight of her. Nobody wants to sit, talk or walk with her on the street , except her beloved mother, the only one sharing the pains and tears of her heavy burden day and night. Her mother is the only helping her to clean and wash her smelling underwear and other clothes everyday and nurses the wound of her malodorous sore. The sore that is always oozing with pus and the nauseating odour wherever she goes and she has to be in sanitary towels 24 hours everyday and may have to do so for the rest of her miserable life on earth. This disease has left her heart broken and hopeless as she goes about in the cloak of sadness, hanging her head in sorrow while her fortunate mates and others go about in the happiness of their good health and with heads raised in mirth. But the man, her cruel husband who inflicted this curse on her does not even care about her and has since taken a new young wife to replace her within weeks of driving her away from his home. No man wants to sleep with a girl passing out urine and faeces through her vagina. But this wicked man caused the cut in her vagina during the tormenting travail of premature labour as a result of her small pelvic. And she is not the only victim. They are legions, from the northern regions down to the southern states of Nigeria.

She joins other victims like her, exchanging consolations in the agonies of the lamentations of their malodorous disease. Each one of the over 700, 000 of them shares the same mirror of horror. But help is on the way as they receive the good news announced by the health centre.
Girls and women who need help on VVF care can dial the following phone numbers: 07033346418; 08033711116 and 08036492782.
She writes down the life saving information with glints in her brown eyes and her small brown lips part in a shy smile as she looks up at the noticeboard.
I thank God that there is hope for the girl with the leaking vagina.

Note:
As at the end of October, 2011, Nigeria had about 400,000 – 800,000 women living with Vestico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), with about 20,000 new cases occurring annually. 90 per cent of these have remained largely untreated. The above figures ironically place Nigeria highest on the VVF prevalence ladder in the world. Lamenting the high prevalence of the disease in the country, the first lady of Gombe State, Hajiya Adama Dankwambo recently took practical steps toward curbing the scourge in the state.

Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) or Recto vaginal fistula (RVF) are holes resulting from the breakdown in the tissue between the vaginal wall and the bladder or rectum caused by unrelieved obstructed labour. Over the years, Gombe state has remained one of the states in the federation where the number of women living with VVF is high, especially in the rural areas where majority of the infected persons are indigent and cannot afford medical treatment.

Women with VVF have overtime been treated like outcasts by society especially in the rural areas due to the nature of their condition which gives off a foul-smelling vaginal discharge.

Celebrity Popularity by Brown Envelopes: From the Bellanaira to the Lindarella

Celebrity Popularity by Brown Envelopes: From the Bellanaira to the Lindarella

"Truth is not only violated by falsehood, it may be equally outraged by silence"

- Henri Frederic Amiel 1821 – 1881.

Four horrible and terrible evils are rampant in Nigeria and these four evils have done more harm to Nigeria than even the dreaded Boko Haram Islamic terrorists, Niger Delta militants, Igbo kidnappers, hired killers, robbers, prostitutes and other lunatic fringe of the populace, because majority of Nigerians are either active or passive agents and perpetrators of these horrible and terrible evils plaguing our beloved nation. They are CORRUPTION, HYPOCRISY, IGNORANCE and MEDIOCRITY.

These four evils are practiced and celebrated by both members of the ruling class and the poor masses from the bedroom to the boardroom, from the street to the internet, from the cesspit to the pulpit and from the closets indoors to the cabinets of the corridors of power in Lagos, Abuja and other towns and cities in Nigeria. These four evils have destroyed more lives and properties than all the crimes of the Boko Haram terrorists, kidnappers, hired killers, armed robbers and prostitutes since Nigeria became independent on October 1, 1960 to date. Moreover, these conscienceless and shameless perpetrators are busy pointing accusing fingers at the politicians and at those they gossip about on social and political gossip blogs, forums, pages of daily newspapers and tabloids. They are the loudest noisemakers during strikes, pickets and marches on the street and internet posing and posturing as civil rights activists and agitators of democracy and governance, but they are the same dirty and filthy butt-lickers, sycophantic jobbers and beneficiaries of the same people they are pointing accusing fingers at.

I am going to illustrate some of these hypocrites whose intellectual ignorance goes on public parade in the masquerade of social arrogance and mediocrity as they go about with shallow airs and graces among their peers as they compete among themselves for public attention and the patronage of members of the ruling class; from the Bellanaira to the Lindarella and the sycophantic brown envelope journalists on their payroll.

Please, read the following:
Nigeria: Brown Envelope Syndrome, Bane of Journalism –Adaba on http://allafrica.com/stories/201011300346.html, a report by Michael Jegede published by the Daily Independent on November 29, 2010.

Truth is either nailed to a bleeding cross, or it dons a variegated cloak. That is the nexus between the 'brown envelope' syndrome and the cancer of corruption on http://www.africmil.org/publications/African%20Journalism%20in%20a%20Culture%20of%20Brown%20Envelopes%20The%20Nigerian%20Perspective.pdf

Why we collect brown envelopes- Nigerian Journalist
on
http://www.nigeriansreport.com/2011/02/why-we-collect-brown-envelopes-nigerian.html

These brown envelope journalists are among the laziest news reporters who hardly do any investigation and verification before the publication of the bogus claims and lies they have been fed with by those who buy them breakfast, lunch or dinner and give them fat brown envelopes and some of them are so shameless to tell you that except you pay them, they will not report your news or inform the public of the importance, relevance or significance of what you are doing for the common benefit of your community and society. One of the most ridiculous cases was when a reporter from one of the top five leading daily newspapers in Nigeria demanded N10, 000 to report a non commercial public event on the fight against malaria in Africa convened by http://bookalleria.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.htmlMai Nasara, the winner of the 2011 Nigeria Prize for Literature sponsored by the Nigeria LNG Limited. Unknown to him, Mai Nasara knows the Chairman of the Editorial Board who would never condone brown envelope journalism or any form of corruption.

These shameless brown envelope reporters at large are doing more harm than good to modern journalism.

How many of these so called celebrities they blow their trumpets in Nigeria have been celebrated by the BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, Reuters, New York Times and other proven international news media channels as notable Nigerians like Helon Habila, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Eunice Olumide, Peace Anyiam- Osigwe, Dr. Ola Orekunrin and others have been recognized? Because, the journalists from these highly esteemed international news media channels don’t ask or collect brown envelopes like some of the local journalists. When a young BBC News reporter came without any invitation or solicitation to interview me in April 2003, I did not pay a penny or one kobo for the one hour interview on my performance poetry in audio and the news interview was broadcasted worldwide gratis and it was a good content for the global appreciation of BBC News. And I have never asked for payments to report news on Nigerian journalists, entertainers and other newsworthy people I have published on my news blogs and online forums. In fact, Azu Amatus did not even know when I highlighted his blog on Nairaland, and I did same for the leading Nollywood film critic Shaibu Husseini, I did not ask for anything and he has never asked for anything too to report my events or projects. When I wrote on the good public relations of the Nollywood diva Omoni Oboli, she never solicited for it and we never communicated personally over it. Nobody knew who was Linda Ikeji on the internet until I reported her as a local supermodel on Nairaland and received a lot of flak for celebrating her and she did not pay me for it and I also did the same for popular Nollywood star Emeka Enyiocha and other celebrities and non celebrities without their solicitation or gratification and that is how true journalism should be practiced without asking for fat brown envelopes, cash for news or the chequebook journalism practiced by some social and political tabloids in Nigeria and other countries.

I have reported the dangers and evils of brown envelope journalism to newspapers, radio and TV stations without mentioning the names of the journalists involved and in fact I refused to give names when a private TV station asked for them. I simply advised the station to warn their staff to desist from the corrupt practices in modern journalism. But unfortunately, instead of repenting, the guilty ones engaged in whispering campaigns of calumny against whistle blowers and in some cases whistle blowers are exposed to risks of being attacked by their patrons and sponsors or beneficiaries.

When we condone corrupt practices, the perpetrators of corruption and other immoral and criminal practices would never be pricked or sanctioned to stop their evil crimes and that is why the four evils of CORRUPTION, HYPOCRISY, IGNORANCE and MEDIOCRITY continue to spread like the HIV/ADIS scourge and the perpetuation of corruption will continue the spiral destruction of our nation.

We must separate the wheat from the chaff in every facet of life to separate the good from evil and until we do so, no reformation or transformation will be possible.

Enlighten the people, generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like spirits at the dawn of day.

Roll Up Roll Up For The Magical Mystery Tour!
THE BEATLES' CLASSIC 1967 FEATURE FILM RESTORED FOR WORLDWIDE DVD AND BLU-RAY RELEASE ON OCTOBER 8TH

LONDON, Aug. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Songs you'll never forget, the film you've never seen, and a story that's never been heard.  In 1967, in the wake of the extraordinary impact of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album and the One World satellite broadcast of All You Need Is Love, The Beatles devised, wrote, and directed their third film, Magical Mystery Tour, a dreamlike story of a coach day trip to the seaside. Apple Films has fully restored the long out-of-print, classic feature film for October 8 th release worldwide (October 9 th in North America) on DVD and Blu-ray with a remixed soundtrack (5.1 and stereo) and special features. For the first time ever, there will be a limited theatrical release in certain territories from September 27 th.

(Photo:  http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20120822/LA60811)

Magical Mystery Tour will be available in DVD and Blu-ray packages, and in a special 10"x10" boxed deluxe edition. The deluxe edition includes both the DVD and Blu-ray, as well as a 60-page book with background information, photographs and documentation from the production, and a faithful reproduction of the mono double 7" vinyl EP of the film's six new Beatles songs, originally issued in the UK to complement the film's 1967 release.

The restoration of Magical Mystery Tour has been overseen by Paul Rutan Jr. of Eque Inc., the same company that handled the much acclaimed restoration of Yellow Submarine. The soundtrack work was done at Abbey Road Studios by Giles Martin and Sam Okell.

All of the packages contain a host of special features, packed with unseen footage. There are newly-filmed interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and other members of the film's cast and crew, as well as a director's audio commentary recorded by Paul.

In September 1967, The Beatles loaded a film crew onto a bus, along with friends, family and cast, and headed west on the A30 out of London to make their third film, this time conceived and directed by The Beatles themselves.

"Paul said, 'Look, I've got this idea,' and we said 'Great!' and all he had was this circle and a little dot on the top – that's where we started," explains Ringo. "It wasn't the kind of thing where you could say, 'Ladies and gentlemen, what you are about to see is the product of our imaginations and believe me, at this point they are quite vivid'," says Paul. The film follows a loose narrative and showcased six new songs: "Magical Mystery Tour," "The Fool On The Hill," "I Am The Walrus," "Flying," "Blue Jay Way," and "Your Mother Should Know."

Magical Mystery Tour features a fabulous supporting cast of character actors and performers, including Ivor Cutler, Victor Spinetti, Jessie Robins, Nat Jackley, Derek Royle, and the inimitable Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Although the 53-minute film was shot in glorious color, it premiered on UK television in black and white. Broadcast by BBC1 at 8:35pm on Boxing Day, the film immediately attracted widespread controversy as middle England and the establishment media erupted with indignation. "How dare they?" they cried, "They're not film directors!  Who do they think they are?" they howled. Where were the four loveable moptops of Help! and A Hard Day's Night? Those Beatles were out of control!

Partly as an upshot of this adverse reaction, the film never had a US broadcast and very limited distribution in the rest of the world.

Operating at the time as the world's de facto "cultural mission control," The Beatles were already influencing filmmakers, artists, and musicians, while also drawing inspiration from their contemporaries.

Apple Films and EMI have partnered with Omniverse Vision, the leading distributor of music events to cinemas worldwide, to bring exclusive showings of Magical Mystery Tour to the big screen for the first time.  Screenings will take place in selected cinemas from September 27 th in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Italy, Japan, and other countries worldwide.  Once confirmed, full listings will be available at www.thebeatles.com. In addition, The British Film Institute has announced a special screening of Magical Mystery Tour at BFI Southbank on October 2 nd. Tickets are now available from the BFI website.
